Face Mask Frenzy #8 – Nicaraguan Coffee Intense Awakening Mask

How long has it been since the last Face Mask Frenzy? I believe it has been a whole year! Finally I got the chance to test yet another face mask by The Body Shop.

If you haven’t seen the previous 7 reviews of the other face masks by The Body Shop, make sure to go check them out. You can find them through these links:

What it does: This face mask leaves skin feeling awakened, cleared of impurities and looking more radiant and pores looking refined.

Scent: Beautiful scent of coffee beans that made me feel even more relaxed in the afternoon after applying this. It was a pleasure to be able to sniff it the whole 10 minutes I had this one on my face. Are you a coffee addict? You should definitely give this mask a go, even just for the scent.

Consistency: The mask had a bit of a sticky, gel feeling to it. It has some small little black dots in it which I assume are tiny peaces of coffee beans. Even though it was a bit sticky, it wasn’t hard to apply at all.

How to use: “After removing make-up and cleansing skin, use your fingers to smooth on an even layer of the mask, avoiding the eye and lip area. Apply to the neck and décolleté if desired. After 5-10 minutes, rinse off with warm water and a muslin cloth in gentle circular motions to exfoliate. Use 2-3 times a week.”

My Personal Experience: After cleansing my face I applied this face mask in a nice, even layer. One thing I instantly started to notice was that the face mask started to warm up a little bit. That is something I tend to love since you can actually feel the face mask working its magic.

After 10 minutes had passed, I decided to take it off using circular motions so the little coffee bits could gently scrub my face. Don’t worry, the scrub is extremely gentle and won’t damage your skin.

After rinsing I immediately noticed a difference in the way my skin looked. This is actually something I’ve noticed with all these masks by The Body Shop. Who wouldn’t want to see immediate results?

My skin definitely looked and felt softer. My pores were visibly smaller. On top of that, my face had some more healthy colour in it and overall it appeared to be brighter. A lot of the dullness had disappeared and I guess you could say my skin looked more ‘awake’.

Once again, another great face mask by The Body Shop that does exactly what it promises to do. If you’re looking for instant results, go check this one out!
